Project Description:
Our firm was retained to deliver comprehensive mechanical and electrical design engineering services for a new multi-storey community facility for The Salvation Army in Ajax. The project includes key spaces such as a conference room, gymnasium, classrooms, offices, food distribution areas, washrooms, and kitchen facilities.
Mechanical Scope Highlights:
- HVAC design featuring energy-efficient heating and cooling systems tailored to the various space uses (e.g., gym, offices, food bank).
- The ventilation strategy ensures proper air exchange rates in accordance with OBC and ASHRAE standards.
- Plumbing design for washrooms, kitchenettes, and laundry, including hot water recirculation and backflow prevention.
- Fire protection system coordination, including sprinkler design support.
Electrical Scope Highlights:
- Complete lighting design including energy-efficient LED lighting and lighting control systems.
- Power distribution and panel layouts ensure adequate capacity and future flexibility.
- Fire alarm system design conforming to the Ontario Fire Code and NFPA standards.
- Coordination with elevator power, security rough-ins, and data infrastructure.
